Adagio Better Tea Club Box for May and Review of Pocketful of Posies Tea

A few months back I saw a Groupon for the Adagio Better Tea Club at a very reduced price.  The normal price of the monthly box is $6.99 for either 3 loose leaf tea selections or 2 tea pyramid sachets selections.  The Groupon was a six month subscription for $25, which is 40% off the regular price.  Also, at the time there was an additional Groupon coupon code so I got the subscription for around $10.  I have been SO happy with this subscription box.  I thought I would show you the May contents!  I initially started my tea subscription as the loose leaf tea box but then decided to change to the tea sachets (that is the box I have this month).  The nice thing about the subscription is that you can change your box at any time from loose leaf to sachets.  The box has arrived promptly the first of each month and comes in a very nice yellow Adagio box.  There is always a monthly card that tells about the teas and also indicates that there is a 15% discount on the May teas.  The imagery on the monthly card has been just lovely!  Today I am reviewing one of the teas that came in the box, Pocketful of Posies.

The Packaging:  The tea sachet is housed inside a sealed pouch.  The package is very pretty with light lavender tones and some lilacs flowers.  I love that these are individually wrapped so that they not only keep fresh but it makes them highly portable.

The Ingredients:  blackberry leaves, chamomile flowers, peppermint, hibiscus, lavender, rose petals

The Dry Leaves:  The tea looked like your average chamomile herbal blend.

The Smell:  The dry tea pyramid smelled like chamomile.  The steeped tea smelled like chamomile as well.

The Taste:  I test all of my teas without sugar initially.  This tea unfortunately tasted just like a chamomile tea.  I don't pick up on any hibiscus notes or peppermint even.  I can ever so slightly taste the lavender.  I actually expected this tea to have a heavy floral flavor but it does not.

The Verdict:
Overall I like the tea however I like it as a chamomile, not as a floral blend and that kinda defeats the purpose of the tea.

Until Next Time Happy Sipping!
